DireSnake is a relative newcomer to our forums, and one thing is for sure - he's not the biggest talker of the bunch. Not quite Filimon level of silence, mind you, but still no chatterbox. Of course, he's also working with a bit of a language barrier, hailing from St. Petersburg, Russia.

The style and amazing attention to detail is also reminiscent of our Russian friend Filimon - the project that DireSnake has devised is bold, unusual and requires very careful execution. It's a good thing that he seems to excel at his unique style of design, because the case has been ticking along fabulously.

We don't really know what to call it and we don't really know how he thought of it, but the curvy wood designs have been carefully cut, glued, and joined to create an incredible and unique "heel" to the case, which is designed to hold an mATX motherboard.

To the heel, DireSnake has added curved beams to create an almost organic shape that is eerily reminiscent of some type of head. We're not entirely sure if that resemblance is intentional or just extrapolated, though.

Power has been provided by ripping apart a PSU and mounting it into a new, considerably more attractive housing that also has tons of ventilation. And that's probably a good thing - if anything were to cause problems, this could be it. However, it seems like DireSnake has it all well under control.

The frame was filled in with very thin strips of wood that were woven together to create a mesh. Newspaper was piled on to this in a papier-mâché to provide proper side panels.

The newly designed side panels were given some of their own camouflage (his word, not ours) by going right to the source - mother nature. DireSnake used leaves to create the next layer of his design, adding to its organic appearance.

To be honest, I can't really tell you where all this is going (or if I missed some painfully obvious game reference to something in Metal Gear?) - but I can say that it is some beautiful work and an incredibly unique look. It's well worth a trip over to his worklog to see what he'll be up to next!

While you're on your way over there, maybe you should take a side trip and vote for WoodWarrior-Interceptor by DireSnake as the September Mod of the Month!
